A MAN living in his mum’s home threatened to “slash” her friend if she came over to visit.

Adam Olesiejuk, 25, had been staying at the property in Govan since Christmas 2021.

On June 2, his mum had been staying overnight at a friend’s house and returned the following morning.

Olesiejuk had consumed half a bottle of vodka and vandalised the kitchen, including smashing a mirror.

The woman noticed her son was sleeping, and upon waking him, he shouted “f**k off”.

She told him her friend was coming over, and he replied: "If anyone comes over, I’ll kill them."

At Glasgow Sheriff Court last week, the prosecutor said: “The witness contacted police, who attended at the home and arrested the accused.

“After being cautioned, he stated ‘I got the news yesterday and destroyed the kitchen’.

“The accused was conveyed to Helen Street police office. An audio recording was received.

“With the assistance of a Polish interpreter, the accused stated the following in the recording, ‘kiss my ass’, ‘f*****g drunk f**k’, ‘when she comes over, I’ll f*****g slash her’, ‘if she so much comes here, I’ll f*****g sue her’.

“He continued, ‘bet she doesn’t enter this place’, ‘do you understand, I’ll slash her body’.

“The accused was further cautioned and charged to which he replied, ‘I never did, so I’m basically getting charged with something I didn’t do’.”

Olesiejuk’s lawyer explained his client had just lost his stepfather at the time.

He added: “He accepted his responsibility for this immediately. A period of unpaid work would be appropriate.”

Sheriff Patricia Pryce told him: “I take it you’re quite ashamed of how you spoke to your mum.

“You are someone who has a very limited record. It was a difficult time for you both. I’m convinced I can deal with this as an alternative to custody.”

Olesiejuk, of Calton, was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.
