A man tried to kick a member of a group close to a Partick Thistle vs Airdrie match.
Ryan Lawrence, 27, lashed out at the unknown man in Glasgow's Maryhill on January 22, 2022.
The city's sheriff court heard the two teams were playing in the nearby Firhill Stadium at the time.
Prosecutor Victoria Keel said: "CCTV captured Lawrence on Firhill Road.
"CCTV focused on a passing group in the area.
"Lawrence aimed a kick at a man but no contact was made.
"After a short while there was an altercation between Lawrence's group and the man's group."
Police were told of the incident and Lawrence was later traced.
Lawrence pleaded guilty today to assault of the unknown man.
The Crown accepted the removal of part of the charge which claimed it took place "while on a journey between a regulated football match between Partick Thistle and Airdrie”.
Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month.
Lawrence, of Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, had his bail continued meantime.
