A Paisley theatre company is thrilled to announce that its annual Christmas pantomime will be returning this winter.

The Pace Theatre Company is returning to the stage with a highly anticipated production of Cinderella - and it’s sure to be a ball for the whole family.

The retelling of this festive fairy-tale will take place in an exciting new pop-up theatre from December 7-31.

A transformed former department store in the centre of Paisley has been converted into a large-scale exhibition space run by Outspoken Arts, with a pop-up theatre on the third floor.

The Art Department in the former Allders and Co-op store space will provide a fully equipped venue for the unique and immersive pantomime experience while the traditional site at Paisley Art Centre gets refurbished.

Chris Alexander, known for Smile, and panto favourite Alan Orr, from A New Life, are heading up the spectacular ensemble as the Ugly Sisters.

Playwright, director and composer Andy McGregor has previously written two pantos for Pace and will be returning as a writer for the new production of Cinderella.

Daniel Cameron, BAFTA Scotland award winning actor, playwright, and director is back as well to direct the anticipated Paisley panto.

Flair and costume design will be provided by regular company collaborator Fraser Lappin, and many more professional and young cast members are set to be announced shortly.

Jenni Mason, artistic director of Pace, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing panto back to Paisley after a hiatus, as we know that the Pace panto is something of an institution for Renfrewshire audiences at Christmas.

“It’s especially exciting to be further developing our pop-up space, which we piloted during our summer activities, and we can’t wait to explore the opportunities that creating a panto in a non-traditional venue presents.

“We’re pulling out all the stops this Christmas and are confident that there will be something for everyone to enjoy.”
