A MAN was rushed to hospital following a "disturbance" in Glasgow city centre.

Two people were arrested and charged following the incident that took place on Union Street, shortly before 11pm last night.

A 37-year-old man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

The 36-year-old man and 26-year-old woman who were arrested are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Three ambulances were sent to the scene. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 36-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance on Union Street in Glasgow which was reported around 10.50pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

“A 37-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

“The man and woman are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow (Thursday, September 1).”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
