Hundreds of people queued around the block for a rally saying Enough is Enough over the cost of living crisis.

The Enough is Enough campaign of trade unions and community action groups is demanding a real pay rise for workers to deal with rising inflation and action to cancel the planned energy price hike.

The campaign wants a minimum wage of £15 per hour.

It wants the energy cap rise scrapped and a return to the level before April of an average of £1277 a year.

And it wants a fairer tax system where the richest 5% pay more in tax.

There was a full house at the Old Fruitmarket for the Glasgow rally with more than one hundred joining a separate queue hoping for a ticket.

Outside people said they were coming together to demand better wages and a fairer energy system.

One attendee, Megan From Glasgow, said:  I'm here to show support with people. Our bills are going up but our wages are not."

Her friend Caitlin, from Edinburgh, said: "I feel like the government is trying to trick us into believing it is not as bad as it really is. We need to come together and take control of it.

The economy and wages were on people's minds as they were entering the hall.

Eilidh Harris, from Glasgow, said: "We've been living in poverty so so long.

"I've just graduated as a teacher. I'm on universal credit."
