An exciting line-up of guest speakers has just been announced for a Scottish music industry conference later this year.

Resonate, a music event that brings together industry professionals, musicians, students, music fans, and aspiring artists will take place for one day only at Platform in Glasgow on Thursday, November 24.

Nemone Metaxas, founder of the award-winning BBC 6Music show Journeys in Sound, will be the keynote speaker and Phoebe Inglis-Holmes, presenter for BBC Introducing, will be hosting the event.

Other speakers include Denise Allan, manager of the band Glasvegas, and panellists include representatives from Spotify, Bandcamp, Playstation Studios, and Donald MacLeod of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.

Nemone said: “I am genuinely thrilled that Resonate have asked me to be a part of their fantastic conference.

“I can’t wait to be back in Glasgow this November to give the keynote speech, as part of such a diverse line-up, and to share my journey through, and thoughts on, music and psychotherapy.”

The event hopes to provide a safe and accessible space to promote an ethos of collaboration and creativity within the Scottish music scene.

Billy Kiltie, the founder of Resonate, said: “This is the sixth year of Resonate, we are hugely excited by this year’s excellent array of speakers and panellists.

“We continue to learn and create for and with music practitioners throughout Scotland.

“This is a day for producers, musicians, fans and anyone who loves music and wants to know more about what we do and how we do it.

“Whether you just like listening to tunes or bands and are curious, or you’re a student looking to break into the industry, or an experienced producer, band or musician who wants to understand the industry better, Resonate is for you.

“Thank you to all our partners for sticking with us over the years, and to Platform for welcoming us back for the second year.”

The event has a diverse set of partners including Last Night From Glasgow, Spotify, Scottish Music Industry Association, Daaci, Tickettailor, Musicians’ Union, CD Baby, BMI, and Steinberg.
