AN unexploded bomb has been found on a building site close to a railway near Glasgow, forcing a section of the track to be closed.
Network Rail Scotland made the announcement on Twitter, stating that the Muirend to Neilston line is temporarily closed.

ScotRail later tweeted to confirm that affected passengers can use their train tickets on the number 3, 54 and 103 buses while the situation is defused.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of an unexploded ordnance having been found at a construction site on Springfield Road in Barrhead around 10.05am on Thursday, September 29, 2022.
“The road is closed and a cordon is in place. EOD have been contacted.”
ScotRail later said that the line would remain closed until at least 6pm today.
UPDATE: It's likely the Muirend to Neilston line will now be closed until at least 1800 today.
