AN ongoing police investigation has forced an urgent last-minute venue change for a gig in Glasgow city centre.

Louis Dunford was scheduled to perform at Stereo in Renfield Lane tonight but police enquiries mean the venue can't open its doors.

Renfield Lane is closed from both Hope Street and Renfield Street as police were called to the scene this morning at 7.55am.

Ticketholders are now being told that the venue has changed to the Classic Grand.

PCL Presents, a Glasgow-based promoter company, wrote on Instagram: "Urgent Louis Dunford venue change.

"Unfortunately due to a police incident there is no access available to Stereo today, this is not the venue's fault but we have managed to secure the Classic Grand, doors are 7.30pm."

They added: "We would like to thank the team at the Classic Grand for making this happen at such short notice."

An investigation into the serious sexual assault of a 30-year-old woman has been launched.

Cops say they are at the early stages of their enquiries.

It is not known when Stereo and The Old Hairdressers, another bar in Renfield Lane, will be able to re-open.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.55 am on Sunday, October 2, police received a report of a serious sexual assault on a 30-year-old woman in Renfield Lane, Glasgow.

"Enquiries are at an early stage into this incident.”
