Glasgow city centre will soon be transformed into a winter wonderland featuring an ice rink and TWO Christmas fairs.

Glasgow Loves Christmas has confirmed the city’s St Enoch Square and George Square will feature everything from carousels and street food hubs.

The Christmas fair at St Enoch Square is set to launch at 12pm on Friday, November 18, offering thrill-seekers The Blizzard – an attraction capable of reaching speeds of up to 70mph – and an opportunity to test their grip on an ice climbing wall.

Little ones will have the chance to jump aboard and enjoy Santa’s runaway train, bungee trampolines, a trail funhouse and a helter-skelter.

Festive favourites will also be served up at street food stalls, a marshmallow toasting station and a Bavarian moose bar and swing grill.

Meanwhile, the opening of the fair at George Square, at 12pm on December 1, will present the people of Glasgow and its visitors with a chance to glide across an ice rink.

Skating sessions for those with additional support needs, with toned-down capacity, lighting and sound, will also take place.

Visitors to George Square can also sample the sights from atop a 33-metre-high observation wheel and soar through the sky in Venetian flying chairs.

The site also boasts a free entertainment stage, Victorian carousel, Santa’s flying balloons, children’s Christmas train ride, a street food hub, a festive-themed bar, a Bavarian swing grill and a snow globe ideal for photo opportunities.
