The news has pleased many Gers fans, with Giovanni van Bronckhorst's replacement now in position heading into the second half of the season.
And one supporter encapsulated that delight live on TV as he danced about in the background a piece-to-camera on BBC Scotland's evening bulletin.
The fan, who bared his chest, with his shirt placed over his head, could be heard singing Michael Beale's name.
Beale's first game in charge will come against Hibs on Thursday, December 15.
He will take charge of two friendlies before then though, against Bayer Leverkusen and Swansea.
