A Glasgow couple were forced to book a flight three times after having ‘too much fun’ at an airport bar.
Brooke Curran, 36, was supposed to be travelling to Amsterdam on Thursday with fiance Stephen Lynn to celebrate his 32nd birthday.
The pair had been enjoying a tipple at Glasgow Airport before experiencing the “most awkward moment ever” at the boarding gate.
They were gutted to realise they had missed the plane by minutes and were forced to try and sort out another flight.
Brooke frantically booked another flight leaving from Edinburgh that evening through a third party company, however when they checked easyJet the flight wasn’t until next Tuesday.
They then cancelled the flight and booked a third one from Glasgow on Friday and finally made it to Amsterdam £700 out of pocket.
Brooke told the Glasgow Times: “We had booked a flight from Glasgow to Amsterdam but missed the flight as we were in the bar having too much fun.
“It was myself and my fiance travelling to celebrate his 32nd birthday.
“We went to the gate to board and the desk was closed by minutes.
"It was the most awkward moment ever, everyone watching us knowing we had missed the flight.
“We then booked flights for that evening, leaving from Edinburgh but as we were about to leave we checked the flights and for some reason they had been moved to next Tuesday.
“We then had to book a third set of flights and returned to the scene of the crime at the bar and thankfully we made it.”
