A MAN has been left with a serious head injury following a crash in Wishaw.

Emergency services were called to Alcath Road, near to Bonkle Road, at 9.20am on Sunday morning.

A white Ford Transit van collided with a blue Ford Transit flatbed van, which was unoccupied at the time.

The passenger of the white van, a 46-year-old man, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

His condition is described as stable.

The road was closed to traffic for hours while investigations were carried out. It re-opened at 12.30pm.

Cops are treating the crash as serious and are appealing for information.

Sergeant Craig McDonald said: “We’re appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or was in the area at the time to get in touch.

“I would also ask if there are any other motorists with possible dash-cam footage or anyone with information that may help with our investigation to contact police.”
