CITY buildings including the Botanic Gardens and Glasgow Science Centre will be glowing green on the longest night of the year to support the NSPCC and Childline.

The child protection charity and its counselling helpline will be illuminating landmarks across Scotland in shades of emerald on Wednesday, December 21, to raise awareness of the service.

On average, two children a minute contact Childline. Counsellors receive calls about many concerns and issues, including abuse, neglect, self-harm, and anxiety.

The charity is also hoping people from Glasgow will sign up to do a sponsored 5k Walk for Children.
