Scotland rugby legend Tim Visser talks openly about his hair transplant procedure. If you look through a list of male celebrities, you'll see a lot of men with receding hairlines that somehow managed to regrow into luscious coiffs.

Most likely, you know someone too who kept it to themselves. However, despite the silence,  there is no denying the fact that millions of men are undergoing hair transplants.

The most popular cosmetic surgery worldwide for men is hair transplantation.

The last ten years have seen tremendous advancements in treatments for androgenetic alopecia, popularly known as male pattern baldness - with Scottish rugby legend Tim Visser revealing how he recently benefited from his own transplant in the exclusive Q&A below.

Why did you choose Seneca Medical Group for your hair restoration procedure?

Initially, I thought the marketing material looked very good, and communication via Instagram was smooth. After meeting the staff I was impressed with the professional attitude.

How do you feel following the successful transplant?

Very good. I think the result so far is fantastic even though it is quite early, the medical team was awesome and the procedure itself was so easy that I fell asleep twice!

Do you think hair transplant should be a taboo for men?

Absolutely not. If you look at the amount of cosmetic procedures available to woman nowadays, it should be acceptable for men to have things like this done too.

What did your friends family think when you told them you wanted a hair transplant?

Initially, they were sceptical, but now they’ve seen the result they think it’s a no-brainer.

Would you recommend a hair transplant to friends/family? Why?

Absolutely. Since having my procedure done, I’ve recommended 4 friends to Seneca already. Two are having their procedure done early next year!

Seneca Direct FUE hair transplantation technique

Seneca Direct FUE hair transplantation technique is a minimally invasive prosedure where hair follicles, are extracted from the donor area (back and sides of the head) and implanted directly to the affected area (recepient area).

The entire procedure is performed only by doctors trained and certified by Seneca Training & Research Centre, and under strict Seneca Quality Standardization Protocols, to ensure great results every time.

During the implantation phase we use the Implanter, a specially designed tool which allows a full control of the depth, direction, and angle of placement of each hair follicle. After the placement, the hair follicles follow their normal course of life and grow naturally.

The transplanted hairs continue to grow for a lifetime and do not fall out, providing an 100% natural result.

Men are discreet about hair transplants because of their masculinity and how they age, especially since hair is frequently associated with virility - but it's crucial to offer males the freedom to speak openly about these topics.
