A TEACHER has been struck off after she grabbed and pushed pupils in a Southside primary.

Lorna Westcott grabbed a youngster by the arm and forcibly walked him inside Torylgen Primary School.

She also pushed the same boy, known only as Pupil J, causing him to fall onto a tent in March 2019.

The same day she "aggressively" pulled the boy and another pupil's hands apart before lifting Pupil J under the armpits and walking, using her body to move his legs.

The child was then forcibly pushed into a padded room, causing him to fall.

He was left visibly shaken and crying.

Westcott then grabbed the other youngster, known as pupil B, from the floor by the arms and pushed her towards the sink area.

She shouted at the girl to turn off the tap and then forced her hand to turn it off, leaving her in tears.

In September 2018, she again left pupils shaken and in tears after she shouted at them and threatened to personally go to their homes and physically bring them to school if they did not attend.

The General Teaching Council for Scotland stated Westcott then acted in an "intimidating manner" towards two colleagues going as far as to point her finger in the face of one staff member and shout: "This conversation does not go any further."

Just one month prior to the incident another youngster, known as Pupil R, was also left upset after the teacher shouted: "Can you not answer a simple question?"

Westcott admitted to behaving in such a manner while employed by Glasgow City Council and agreed to be struck off the teaching register.
