Fright fans are in for a treat as Scotland’s only horror convention is coming to Glasgow.
The major event will be held in the city for the first time ever at the SEC promising a terrifyingly good time.
It will include horror traders, movie makers, authors, artists, mind readers, virtual reality, cosplay, props, photobook, burlesque, scavenger hunt, and more to be confirmed.
The event, hosted by Northern Frights, encourages attendees to dress up and normally takes place in Aberdeen.
However, this year due to a high demand organisers have announced Glasgow will welcome the 2024 event.
Even though it is more than a year away, bosses expect the event to sell out soon with hundreds already snapping up tickets.
They have revealed they may also put on extra dates if the huge demand continues.
The event is due to kick off on Saturday, September 21, 2024 between 11am and 6pm.
Creator of Scotland’s only horror convention, Laura Ripley, told the Glasgow Times how she can’t wait to expand the showcase.
Being a huge horror fan herself she had always travelled far to enjoy similar events, before deciding it was time Glaswegians got a chance to experience it themselves.
She said: “The event sells out every year with more and more people wanting to come along.
“We have decided to move it to Glasgow because we need the bigger space and can’t wait to take over the SEC.
“It will have everything from actors, artists, authors, podcasters, prop makers, special effects make-up artists, and live entertainment.
“We will also have a movie screening room and have already sold more tickets for Glasgow next year than Aberdeen’s event this year.
“I think people are excited to come see it and there is a huge demand, there is nothing else like it in Scotland.
“We are considering putting on more dates or adding more rooms if tickets keep selling this quickly.”
