Glasgow tot vomits everyday for seven weeks leaving mum concerned

Beau Pallester has been vomiting every day for almost seven weeks leaving his mother Nicola Carey, 36, concerned.

We previously reported how the two-year-old, from Whiteinch, suffers from Hirschsprung's disease and Waardenburg-shah syndrome.

The rare conditions affect his bowel and intestine, as well as causing hearing loss and feeding problems.

His health was under control until he suddenly became nauseous, struggled to sleep, and began passing black stones.

This week Beau was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children where doctors suspected he may have gallstones.

He is now on a waiting list for an ultrasound to confirm this while medics frantically work to find out what is causing his illness.

Nicola told the Glasgow Times: “I just don’t understand why he’s being sick. 

“He has been waking up every night being sick now, it’s every morning going on seven weeks.

“We tried different plans and things at home to get to the bottom of what’s causing it. Nothing seems to work, that's why I took him to accident and emergency. 

“Doctors don’t know what’s causing the sickness.

“They think it could be gallstones, so they are awaiting an ultrasound but apparently there is a huge waiting list.”

We previously reported how Beau is undergoing intense physio treatment in the hopes it might let him walk one day.

The tot attends the Craighalbert Centre in Cumbernauld where he gets physio, speech and language therapy, and can interact with other children.

We last reported that he was unable to sit or hold his head up on his own, but amazingly he can now commando crawl by using his arms.

Mum Nicola is desperate to keep up the tremendous work but worries his illness will slow down his progress. 

Nicola said: “Physio has been great, he gets it twice a week for an hour and he’s now started commando crawling using his arms.

“We are just trying to get him moving his legs also. 

“He’s started a nursery which is good for him as he is able to explore and interact with children.

“Beau never had the chance to do that before after being born during lockdown and then being in hospital for two years.

“It has been working so well with him however when he becomes unwell and isn’t sleeping his head control goes and he lacks energy.”
