A teen was treated like a VIP as she reunited with her 'best friend' Mrs Hinch at Silverburn.

Katie Steel was specially invited along to spend quality time with cleaning guru Sophie Hinchcliffe before her book signing at Waterstones in Glasgow on Saturday.

Mum Clare Steel told how her daughter, who suffers from cerebral palsy, was overjoyed to catch up with the influencer and her husband Jamie after the celebrity couple was inspired by the brave youngster.

Clare wrote in a Twitter post: “Katie’s best friend Mrs Hinch was doing a book signing so it was arranged for Sophie and Katie to have precious time together before the store opened.

“We even arrived and left via the back entrance - Katie felt like a VIP.”

Glasgow Times:

The Glasgow Times previously told how the pair hit it off after Sophie travelled to Katie’s home in Duntocher, West Dunbartonshire, for a surprise weekend-long visit in December 2021.

They bonded over their love of music, with Sophie describing Katie as ’inspirational’, and they have remained in regular contact since.

Clare, who is a Labour councillor representing Clydebank, as well as the local authority's convenor for education services, previously said: “The bond Katie and Sophie have built is unbreakable. Thank you for being Katie's best friend and for all you do for her."
