A MUM violently attacked a woman outside a pub following a Celtic v Rangers game.

Stephanie Britt, 28, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court after admitting to grabbing Kim Robertson by the body, pulling her hair, and punching her.

The court heard that Ms Robertson and others were outside Three Cheers Rangers Bar on Paisley Road just after midnight on February 3, 2022.

Celtic had beat Rangers 3-0 at Parkhead hours before.

The prosecutor said: “They had been involved in an earlier incident within the venue and as a result were asked to leave.

“Whilst waiting for a taxi, they noted the female from before, the accused, approach them. The accused thereafter began to attack Ms Robertson by repeatedly grabbing her and pulling her hair.

“A witness intervened and tried to separate both parties. The accused left.”

But Britt reappeared a short time later.

Ryan Wood noted this and stepped in to prevent any further incident, but Britt punched Mr Wood on the head.

She then again grabbed Ms Robertson by the hair and punched her.

Police were contacted and an officer reviewed CCTV footage of the incident and identified Britt.

Attempts were made to trace her, but these were unsuccessful.

She was not formally cautioned and charged at the time.

It was revealed that there were no injuries caused to either victim.

Britt’s lawyer said: “There had been an Old Firm game that day and she had spent the day drinking.

“Her recollection was that Ms Robertson threw a glass and caused a small cut to the side of her eye. Her actions were fuelled by anger and alcohol.

“She regrets the physical interaction and knows it’s a serious offence. It was a violent attack in the street following an Old Firm game.

“She described her own behaviour as serious. Her only conviction was six or seven years ago.”

Sheriff Diana McConnell said Britt would benefit from supervision.

The sheriff told her: “On the face of it, this was extremely serious, and it still is serious. However, given your relative lack of record and your personal circumstances, I have decided to deal with this by alternative to custody.”

Britt, from Ibrox, was ordered to be under social work supervision for one year and tagged.

She will have to stay in her home between 8pm to 7am for 90 days.
