A BINGO hall in Cumbernauld has announced it will be closing down.

Buzz Bingo, on North Carbrain Road, will shut its doors to customers on Monday, April 10.

Bosses say the news was announced with a "heavy heart".

A Facebook post read: "It’s with a heavy heart we announce the proposed closure of Buzz Bingo Cumbernauld on Monday, April 10.

"We’re really sad to bring you this news as we know this will be a difficult time for our community and our colleagues.

"We’d like to thank you for all your support - we’re going to miss you so much but this isn’t the end for our amazing community."

Customers were asked to share their happy memories from playing in the club and were advised they would be welcome at all other Buzz Bingo branches.

Someone said: "Bit of a shock the club is closing, hopefully the staff will be okay and be able to keep their jobs (by moving to other locations obviously)."

One person wrote: "This is sad, I worked in the hall when it first opened, got great memories from the place. I met my husband from the bingo. Will always have a place in my heart."

Another added: "To say I'm gutted doesn't come close, bingo is all I've known whether it be as a kid to go pick up my mum from her shift or working there myself. Sending lots of love to all the staff."
