Janey Godley has hailed fans' cheers as “better than any medicine” while she battles cancer.

The 62-year-old comedy star thanked supporters for attending her during her sold out ‘NOT DEAD YET' tour.

It comes after she announced the run of shows would be her last as she battles terminal ovarian cancer.

Janey is undergoing treatment for the cancer as she is “determined” to go ahead with her tour - which kicked off in Arbroath in February 2023 before closing in London in March.

Taking to social media she shared a video of her walking out on stage in Glasgow while thousands of fans cheered her on.

She said: “3000 people cheering me on at Glasgow SEC is better than any medicine - thank you everyone.”

Janey shared a video this week of her giving a lengthy thanks for fans after finishing her Scottish tour dates.

She also reminded fans of her near death experience after choking on water in front of a horrified audience, before her daughter saved the day.

In the footage on social media she said: "Hi everybody it's Janey here. I just want to thank everyone for supporting us all through this tour now that the Scottish leg is finished.

"We finished it at the SEC - can you imagine three thousand people and I managed to choke on a bit of water? The amount of s**** I've had down my throat but naw, I choke on water.

"But we were fine, we were fine. Ashley got up, she improvised and then I had a big sing song, finished the show and we had a standing ovation. So yeah I'm ok."

She added: "I've had my bloods done and I'm getting my chemo tomorrow and then next week we are off to London and then off to Belfast.

"But I just want to thank everybody who came out to see the tour. I have never had so much love pointed towards me.

“You guys are f****** amazing and it was nice to see wee Honey (Janey’s dog) make her debut.

"A lot of it was filmed so who knows, maybe we will get it all out. Thank you so much, you've just been amazing."
