CELTIC defender Alexandro Bernabei's trial where he is accused of drink driving and being abusive in a nightclub has been postponed.

The 22-year-old was allegedly more than twice over the limit in Glasgow city centre on August 15, 2022.

Court papers state that Bernabei, of the city's Kelvinside, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes A 200 on Bath Street.

It is claimed that the Argentinian had 48 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath when the limit is 22 micrograms.

Bernabei faces a separate charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at Lola’s nightclub, also on Bath Street.

It is stated that while acting in an aggressive manner, Bernabei "shouted and repeatedly refused to leave the premises despite being requested to do so."

Bernabei appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last November where he was told a trial date was fixed for the end of March.

He was represented at a hearing by his lawyer Callum Ross at a hearing this week.

There was a Crown motion to adjourn the trial and a new date has been fixed for May.

Bernabei's bail conditions include instructions not to enter Lola's nightclub.
