Janey Godley has opened up after revisiting her childhood home saying ‘memories were tough’.

The 62-year-old Glasgow comedian tweeted to her 288.9k followers a picture of her on the same street that “the man who killed her mum” lived on.

It comes after Janey tragically lost her mother Annie Currie, 40 years ago, after she was ‘murdered’ and found in the River Clyde.

Now she has taken a camera crew to her former home while opening up about her past and revealed how “difficult” it was for her to return.

The social media star was praised for being “brave” by fans who wished her “strength”.

Janey tweeted: “Today was difficult. I went back to my childhood home with a camera crew, back to the street where the man who killed my mum lived, same time I got news my cancer marker number is low - memories were tough.

“Also facing terminal cancer and explaining this to people who meet me “Then we went down to my old pub in the Calton, up our old close and the memories flooding in of Ashley being a wee girl hanging off the Victorian newel post on the staircase - it’s still there - with the Wally tiles on the walls.”
