Janey Godley has begged fans to report fake offensive tweets pretending to be from her.

The 62-year-old has called out “photoshopped tweets” that are being shared to look like they came from her own account.

The posts include highly offensive anti-semitic racist language leaving social media users horrified.

Janey is warning followers the tweets were not written by her and are instead being shared by “angry men”.

Janey tagged Police Scotland and Twitter Support as she quote tweeted one of the fake posts saying: “Please report “Yet another sharing fake photoshopped tweets waiting to be reported.

“You can tell they’ve lost the argument when they have to photoshop tweets and share them. “Dear *** do you know how easy it is to fake tweets?”

She also tweeted: “Angry men sharing fake racists photoshopped tweets to show how angry they are at racism.”

Another tweet said: “For the fifteenth time today can we please report this account for sharing racist and antisemitism tweets that are faked and have been debunked - thanks everyone.”

Followers were quick to rally round Janey to support her by reporting the accounts and tweets.

One person said: “Thanks Janey. I'm glad you've said this.”

A second person said: “I have reported these tweets.”

A third person said: “Reported, but what a faff!”

It’s not the first time the Glasgow comedian stood up for herself on social media as we previously reported how she was repeatedly accused of “lying" about her terminal cancer.

The brave mum-of-one is battling terminal ovarian cancer and has shared her journey online for fans, but some have used it to attack the comic.

One tweeted her today saying she is “lying” because she is the “picture of health” and told others to “wake up”.

Janey was quick to respond to the nasty message and said: “I’m sorry your hatred has stretched to saying I am lying about having cancer.

“I wish you a really good day my friend, I am off to get chemo today and hope you never live with this disease.”

We also reported how she was taunted by a twitter user who said “you're meeting your maker soon”.

She then put them in their place by calling out the callous behaviour before wishing them a “good day".

Janey also reminded them she will be remembered as “a strong rape survivor, a good mother and a supportive human” after she dies.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
