FORMER first minister Nicola Sturgeon has been spotted taking a driving lesson after her house was searched by cops.

The 52-year-old was seen stepping out of a blue Toyota Yaris hybrid after manoeuvring it around the streets where she lives with her husband Peter Murrell, reports the Scottish Sun

It is claimed that she revealed the lessons are “part and parcel of the next stage of life” as she searches for “personal freedom” after quitting her role.

A neighbour said: “We’ve been seeing her out and about. She’s used to getting dropped off in big limos.

“That’s all behind her now.

“Learning to drive can be a nervy experience but it looks like she’s doing great.

“She was even out the night before the police arrived to search her house.”

It comes after the neighbourhood was swarming with police after the arrest of Mr Murrell in connection with a probe into the SNP's funds.

A blue forensic tent was pitched outside the home while officers taped off the perimeter.

Mr Murrell was released without charge and Ms Sturgeon later told media teams outside her home that she intended to 'fully cooperate' with the police in their investigation.

She asked journalists to “respect” her and her neighbours’ privacy as well amid the “disruption and inconvenience”.

“So that’s really all I needed to say just now, other than I intend to get on with life and my job as you would expect me to,” she added.
