THE air date for a 'dark' new reality show featuring a Rangers legend has been revealed.

We previously reported that Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne would feature on Scared of the Dark, a new reality series which sees famous faces take on challenges while in total darkness.

The Channel 4 series, hosted by Danny Dyer, airs on Sunday, April 16 at 9pm and will run for five consecutive nights.

Joining Gazza for the 'dark' experience will be Gogglebox's Scarlett Moffatt, former boxer Chris Eubank, actor Chris McCausland, actress Donna Preston, Love Island's Chloe Burrows, The Wanted singer Max George and boxer Nicola Adams.

Celebrities live, eat and sleep all in complete darkness while facing their primal fears, and coping with the psychological stress of light deprivation.

They must take part in challenges and, if they win, they will be rewarded with more time in the light and special treats.

If they lose, they lose their privileges and life is made even harder and if it ever gets too much, they must call out 'I'm scared of the dark'.

On hosting, Danny Dyer said: “This is possibly one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever done in my career, and I have done a lot of mad things.

“Throw in a bunch of celebrities and make them do things with the lights off – it’s proper good telly. You’re going to laugh, you’re going to laugh some more and I promise you’re going to love it."
