A man was brutally attacked in broad daylight on Coronation day.
Cops and paramedics were called to Cowlairs Road in the city's Springburn on Saturday afternoon at around 1pm.
They found the 48-year-old victim who had suffered a serious back injury.
He was rushed to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Cops are investigating the violent incident and are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward.
Detective Constable Katrina Keogh said: "A man has sustained a serious injury and it is imperative we trace whoever is responsible.
"I am appealing for anyone with information that may help our investigation to come forward.
"I am also keen to speak with anyone who witnessed this assault or has dash-cam footage that may assist us."
