A MAN has been rushed to hospital after a cyclist was hit by a car in the city's East End. 

We previously reported emergency services were called to Fielden Street at its junction with Fielden Place at around 8.40am following a report of a crash. 

The Glasgow Times understands that a cyclist was hit by a car.

A 64-year-old man, who is understood to be the cyclist, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance. 

His condition is not known.

Pictures from the scene show a silver Audi with a smashed windscreen next to a bike. 

Fielden Street remains closed in both directions between Crownpoint Road and London Road. 

An investigation into the incident is underway. 

Police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch via 101, quoting incident number 0737 of May 29.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a crash on Fielden Street, Glasgow around 8.40am on Monday, May 29.

"Emergency services attended and a 64-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"Fielden Street, Glasgow remains closed in both directions from Crownpoint Road and London Road.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact police via 101 quoting reference 0737 on May 29."​​

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 8.36am on May 29 to attend a road traffic collision on Fielden Street, Glasgow.

"We dispatched three divisional resources and the Trauma Team to the scene, and a patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."
