AN e-scooter rider has been rushed to hospital after he was hit by a car - just hours after a fatal crash on the same road. 

Police were called to Duke Street at around 7pm yesterday evening following a report of a crash involving an e-scooter and a car. 

The male driver of the e-scooter was taken to hospital where his injuries are said to be serious but not life-threatening. 

Officers said an investigation into the incident is underway. 

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023, officers received a report of a crash involving an e-scooter and a car on Duke Street, Glasgow.

"The male driver of the e-scooter was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

"Enquiries into the crash remain ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."

It comes as a man died after being struck by a lorry on the same road just hours earlier.  

We previously reported emergency services raced to Duke Street, near its junction with Bellfield Street, at around 10.40am yesterday morning following the incident.

A 44-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
