A NEW car breakdown service has been launched in Glasgow and will offer drivers 24/7 assistance.

Breakdown provider Green Flag has revealed its first ever company operated patrol service in the city following a successful trial this year.

The service will also be available in Edinburgh, with ambitions to expand across multiple locations in England, Scotland and Wales over the next two years.

Green Flag’s locally trained patrol technicians will assist customers experiencing specific car problems in Scotland’s two biggest cities, such as tyre and battery related breakdowns, quickly and efficiently.

The new service complements the existing independent network of third-party roadside vehicles and technicians who support Green Flag customers and who will continue to focus on complex recoveries.

Customers who find themselves with a flat battery that cannot be recharged will be able to buy a new battery at the roadside and have it immediately installed, giving them the reassurance they will not have to sort the issue out themselves at a later date.

Katie Lomas, managing director of Green Flag, commented: “Introducing our owned roadside assistance service enables us to provide a more comprehensive service offering, giving us the ability to deliver a broader suite of solutions to our customers in their time of need.

“It’s also a massive step towards Green Flag being more than just brilliant at breakdowns and becoming a motorist brand that is a one-stop shop for motoring services – covering everything from tyres to batteries, MOTs, car servicing, vehicle checks and warranties.”

Green Flag is one of the leading breakdown providers, offering drivers 24/7 assistance from 3000 expert technicians all over the UK. For more information visit greenflag.com or download the Green Flag app.
