The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is experiencing an "ongoing cyber incident" affecting many of its digital systems.
A number of experts are currently assisting staff at the university, which has a campus in Paisley, as part of a probe into the cyber attack.
Some areas of the UWS website are "currently down" for maintenance but the university has confirmed that planned graduations will not be affected.
A UWS spokesperson said: "The University is experiencing an ongoing cyber incident which is currently affecting a number of digital systems.
"All precautionary steps are being taken to manage the situation.
"University colleagues are working closely with internal and external experts, including the relevant authorities, such as Police Scotland, the National Cyber Security Centre, and the Scottish Government. In consultation with this external support, we have been following a controlled process and are making steady steps towards a resolution.
"The university continues to keep staff and students informed.
"Graduations are continuing as planned this week with no interruption."
