Thousands of people have taken part in Glasgow's LGBT Pride celebrations this year.

The city has hosted a Pride event since 2004 with the current march becoming the largest such event in Scotland.

Members of the LGBT community have historically used pride to increase visibility while demanding more rights.

The event has recorded more than 5000 people taking part in the event each year as they wear brightly coloured clothes while some wave banners and flags.

The official theme for 2023 was "Women of the LGBTQ+ Community and Movement."

According to the event's website, the theme this year aimed to "celebrate an integral part of the pride movement which encompasses Marsha P Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, Lisa Power MBE, Lady Phyll, Sian James, and every Jill, including Princess Diana, of the LGBTQ+ community and movement."

The pride celebrations took place across the weekend in the city centre with parades, parties, and alternative events.
