Lorraine Kelly wore a "Princess Diana wedding dress" in beautiful unearthed pictures.

The Glasgow celebrity looked incrediblke in the 80s throwback shots shared by a fan on social media.

The 63-year-old was blown away as she was reminded of her “days with the East Kilbride News” as she tried on a local lady’s creations inspired by the former Princess of Wales wedding dress.

The pictures show a young Lorraine looking stunning in the giant gown and veil while looking at pictures of King Charles and holding a bouquet of flowers.

It comes after a fan tweeted the celebrity saying: “@reallorraine thought you'd like to see these from your days with the East Kilbride News.”

Lorraine responded: “Omfg - that was when we had a lovely local lady make a version of Diana’s wedding dress!”

Followers were quick to respond with their thoughts on the throwback pictures.

We previously reported how Lorraine Kelly announced an exciting career move this year.

It comes as she revealed she had written her debut novel, The Island Swimmer.

It was published by Orion Books in February leaving fans excited about new venture. 

Announcing the news on Twitter, she said: "I am delighted to share with you the news of my debut novel, it's called The Island Swimmer and it's out next spring.

"I've had such a brilliant time doing this, it's something I've always wanted to do. I've always wanted to write fiction and I felt that this was the right time.

The story is initially set in Orkney and follows a woman who must leave her beloved community and when she returns, she must find contentment and belonging.

Lorraine added: "I really hope that you enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it."
