Brookside actress spotted in city centre restaurant as family pose for a photo with staff.
Jennifer Ellison, 40, rose to fame after playing Emily Shadwick on Brookside before the show stopped airing in 2003.
The Italian restaurant, Sannio, posted on Instagram a picture of the actress with her family and staff as it was all smiles.
The post said: "Look who popped by with the family, none other than Jennifer Ellison.
"Thanks again for dropping by, we can't wait to see you again soon Jennifer Ellison.
We previously reported that the actress, who will make her debut in Greatest Days when it begins its run at Glasgow’s King’s Theatre on Monday, was "nervous" as she returns to the theatre stage for the first time in a decade.
Jennifer also posted an image on Instagram saying: "Gorgeous food and fab service. Thank you, Sannio".
