Janey Godley has shared a cancer update in an emotional video on social media.

The brave 62-year-old Glasgow comic is battling terminal ovarian cancer and has been taking her fans along the difficult journey.

She has remained brutally honest and vulnerable to raise awareness for the condition after being diagnosed in November 2021.

Now she has let followers know she is awaiting a crucial scan to see if “the disease has returned.”

It comes after the star underwent a full hysterectomy, after which she was given the all-clear before tragically she was told chemotherapy was “back on the cards” as the cancer returned in December 2022.

Updating fans on X, previously known as Twitter, Janey said: “My cancer number is being watched and I get my scan this week to see if the disease has returned during this cycle of treatment.

“I have to keep reiterating to people that this is terminal cancer, which does not mean to say I am going to die tomorrow, it means I won’t ever get the all clear from this.

“It is always going to be a worry living from three-month scan to three-month scan, but that is the way I am going to live.

“It’s frightening and sometimes it’s overwhelming but as my husband says ‘not today’, I am not dying today.

“We will see what the week brings, meanwhile got to just keep living.

I want to thank everyone for their love and support.

“You have been amazing through all this sh**.”

We previously reported how Janey has been bombarded with support from followers, but sadly has been targeted by trolls online.

She has repeatedly had to defend herself from accusations labelling her a “liar” after sharing cancer updates.

But she is determined not to let them get to her and said no one has ever accused her of faking cancer outside of social media.

In a video posted on Twitter the mum-of-one pointed out how no one has ever confronted her in person by branding her a “monster” or telling her to “die”, despite nasty comments online.

She is urging others to remember that social media can “magnify hate” and although it can leave her “overwhelmed” it is not “real life”.
