A Scottish Labour candidate has backed calls to make Scotland games free to view on TV.
Michael Shanks, the party's candidate for the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election, called on the UK government to work with broadcasters to allow Scotland Men's National Team football matches to be shown free of charge in Scotland.
The politician has said ‘all of Scotland should share in the feats’ of the national team.

With Scotland on the cusp of qualification for the 2024 Euros, the Labour Party has pledged that an incoming Labour government would work to make Scotland games free to view for all Scots.
Michael Shanks said: “It is simply wrong that while our neighbours in England get to watch the English national team for free, Scots are left without the same access.
“Steve Clarke and the Scotland team are national heroes and all of Scotland is behind them – we should all have the chance to gather together and watch them play for Scotland.
“It’s time for the UK government to work together with broadcasters and UEFA to make this happen.
“An incoming Labour government will work to make Scotland games free to watch in Scotland so that we all can cheer on the team.”
The UK Government has been approached for comment.
