‘COWBOY contractors’ have been slammed after a large number of slabs were dumped on a popular walkway in Knightswood.
Local residents were shocked to discover the waste that had been left on the Trinley Brae walkway earlier this week.
Following reports to Glasgow City Council (GCC), the slabs have now been removed and two large concrete blocks have been placed at the entrance of the path to prevent vehicle access.
The incident has prompted a warning from the local authority.
A GCC spokesperson told the Glasgow Times those responsible should be “thoroughly ashamed”.
A statement reads: “This incident was reported to us and we have responded appropriately.
“The cowboy contractors who dumped this waste on a popular open space should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
“Everyone knows you must dispose of waste in the proper manner or else you are liable for enforcement action.
“Measures to prevent vehicle access to this open space have been implemented.”
