DEMOLITION of a fire-stricken community centre in Drumchapel is now underway.

We previously reported that the former Stonedyke Neighbourhood Centre was significantly damaged after a blaze broke out at the Belsyde Avenue building on September 2. 

Glasgow Times:

Following the fire City Property Glasgow who own the building confirmed it would be flattened. 

Images sent to our sister title the Clydebank Post show construction vehicles at the site. 

Glasgow Times: On Wednesday, police confirmed their investigation into the incident had now been completed. 

Glasgow Times: A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a fire at a building on Belsyde Avenue in Glasgow around 5.30pm on Saturday, September 2.

“Officers attended to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Enquiries have been completed.

"Anyone with any further information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2972 of September 2, 2023.”
