A DRIVER was cut out of their car after a two-vehicle smash in Paisley earlier this afternoon. 

It comes after emergency service crews raced to a collision on Neilston Road at around 2pm on Tuesday, October 3.

After arriving on the scene, one motorist was rescued from their motor by fire crews before being passed over into the care of the ambulance service.

The person was then taken to hospital. 

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to assist emergency service partners at 2.01pm on Tuesday, October 3, to reports of a road traffic collision involving two private vehicles on Neilston Road, Paisley.

“Operations control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, and one casualty was rescued from their vehicle and passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on Neilston Road, Paisley, around 2pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

"Emergency services are in attendance."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 2.05pm to attend a two-car road traffic collision on Neilston Road, Paisley.

"One ambulance and one Specialist Operations Response Team (SORT) were dispatched to the scene. One patient was transported to Royal Alexandra Hospital.”
