A STREET in Rutherglen has been locked down by police after a woman's body was discovered within a property early this morning.
We previously reported the body of a woman was discovered in a home in Newfield Place at around 12.45am.
Pictures from the scene show the road has been taped off by police near The Cedar Wood, with a number of police officers standing at the cordon.
Officers have also been pictured standing guard at the door to a property.
Police said the death is being treated as unexplained and an investigation is underway.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.45am on Friday, December 22, 2023, the body of a woman was discovered in a property in Newfield Place, Rutherglen.
"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
