A self-guided travel company is set to return to the Skypark as the industry continues its bounce back.

Macs Adventure, a firm specialising in providing over 500 self-guided walking and cycling tours worldwide, will return to Skypark 5 in February.

Founded in Scotland in 2003 by chief executive Neil Lapping, the company aims to encourage exploration of areas, avoiding popular tourist traps and large group outings.

Its office suite, which stretches out over 4,635 square feet, is set to accommodate approximately 100 staff members on a five-year lease.

Across the Atlantic, Macs Adventure also functions with offices in Colorado, US, and Saarbrucken, Germany.

Primarily, the company operates with a focus on contributing to communities, partnering with community run hotels, B&Bs, and suppliers, encouraging the growth and sustainability of small businesses.

Mr Lapping said: "We look forward to an exciting new chapter at Skypark Glasgow.

"We need a larger workspace that inspires excellence and fosters growth whilst aligning with our sustainability goals.

"This move signifies the next phase of our evolution, bringing us to a new home that mirrors the energy and ambition of our fantastic team."

Skypark’s Strategic Lettings Advisor, Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital said: “We are pleased to see Macs Adventure continue their journey with us from a new base in Skypark 5. Neil and his team of travel enthusiasts are dedicated to supporting local communities through sustainable travel, values that resonate with us at Skypark."

Christina Holland, senior investment manager at Federated Hermes Real Estate, which manages the Skypark, said: "We are excited to begin 2024 with this positive news, as Macs Adventure returns to Skypark.

"Skypark offers highly sought after, flexible office space, which not only supports the requirements of dynamic, modern businesses, but also delivers positive outcomes for the environment and the local communities."

Skypark, a popular business destination in Finnieston, offers a range of sustainable workspaces to new and returning tenants.

Beyond its commitment to providing high-quality office space, Skypark also offers a host of amenities, including 250 secure bike parking spaces, lockers, segregated showers and changing facilities, a drying room, and a dedicated cycle repair space alongside free bike maintenance sessions.
