West College Scotland has launched a two-year Access to Medical Studies programme at its Clydebank campus.

In partnership with the Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP), the course offers a foundation in biology, chemistry, physics, maths, and communication to prepare entrants for medicine, pharmacy, health and biomedical science degrees.

Gordon Murray, curriculum quality leader for science and social science at West College Scotland, said: "The two-year Access to Medical Studies programme offers an exciting opportunity for mature students to develop the academic knowledge, skills and qualities necessary for degree study and a successful future in a range of fulfilling careers."

The programme, tailor-made for adult learners currently out of education, aims to offer more than academic development by equipping students with indispensable skills necessary for the next phase in their education journey.
