A woman is hoping to help others celebrate love this Valentine's Day with an impressive inflatable display.

Sandra Lee Myles recently spent hours decorating the front garden of her Kinfauns Drive home in Drumchapel with various love-themed inflatables, banners, and lights.

The resident explained that she has been putting on this impressive display for around seven years now after she took over from her dad.

Sandra said: “I do these displays for Christmas, New Year, Burns Night, Valentine's Day, Easter, and Hallowe’en.

“Hallowe’en and Christmas are always the ones that I really go all out for. I’ve got a banner and an inflatable for every occasion.

“My dad started doing these displays many, many years ago when he was a lot healthier and more able.

“Since he’s not been able to do it I’ve just taken it over and went bigger. People normally message me if they are coming along but they can also chap my door if they want into the garden to take pictures.

“The response so far has been amazing.”

The Valentines inflatables will remain up until Sunday, February 18 with everyone welcome to head along.

The bright-coloured display features inflatable arches, bears, dogs, and love hearts as well as a light tunnel and wall.

Sandra told the Glasgow Times that she was delighted when a newly engaged couple stopped by to take photos.

She added: “A newly engaged couple came down and stood in front of the banners to get their pictures taken.

"It was so lovely to see because it creates such amazing memories that they can keep. To think that my wee display has been part of that is just wonderful.

“People have also been passing by in cars and tooting, the kids have stopped by when they’ve finished school, and on Sunday people were bringing their kids round after they came out of the chapel so I made sure to have everything up and lit up for 9am that day.

“It’s the kids in the community that inspire me to keep doing this every year. It’s the smiles on their faces and the joy that it brings.

“This can be a dreary wee corner so I just try to cheer it up a bit and if I can do that using some lights, banners and inflatables then I’m happy to do that.”

This year will be the first that Sandra puts on a display at Easter and she revealed that she already has around 15 inflatables for the occasion.

Residents are being urged to keep an eye out for that in the coming months.
