Two new properties in the East End of Glasgow have won big at this year's Scottish Property Awards.

The Clyde Gateway properties scooped two accolades.

New Olympia House bagged Small Commercial Development of the Year and EastWorks was lauded with a Commercial Architectural Excellence Award.

The awards ceremony was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, with a panel of 20 industry experts reviewing and debating the entries.

The submissions spanned over 40 projects from around the country including a diverse mixture of offices, hospitals, schools, health and community centres, universities, hotels and regeneration sites.

New Olympia House is a modern office space that was formerly a Salvation Army citadel.

The £1.7m development by Clyde Gateway and Redpath Construction features a metal tower called the Beacon, a design inspired by the nearby Bridgeton Umbrella.

The building now serves as office space for Scripture Union Scotland.

On the other hand, EastWorks is a £9m development that has transformed a once derelict gas purifier shed into a creative hub and up-to-date office space.

The building, designed by Sheppard Robson and Inch Architecture + Design, is the first commercial establishment connected to a new District Heating Network that utilises renewable energy sources to provide heat and hot water.

Its tenants comprise ESG specialist Utopi and collaborative workspace provider Red Tree.

Glasgow Times:

Martin McKay, chief executive at Clyde Gateway, said: "Both of these stunning buildings have reimagined old structures that were being underutilised and ensured they now provide modern, effective workspaces that are fit for the future, yet preserve the features of the original buildings."

Glasgow Times:

Stacey Phillips, partner at Sheppard Robson, expressed delight over their architectural award, praising the project for bringing "a new and joyful life into the former gas purifier shed."

While Susan Cardwell, from Redpath Construction, described their Small Development of the Year Award as a transformational achievement promoting regeneration in Bridgeton and Dalmarnock.
