Filming is to take place at a beauty spot near Glasgow this month, but country park staff are remaining tight-lipped over what the production is.

Mugdock, close to Milngavie and Strathblane, is to welcome a production crew next week with preparations starting at the site this week.

A member of the public questioned on social media if the filming was connected to the upcoming television series, ‘Lockerbie’, starring Colin Firth.

The actor was spotted filming the new drama based on the Lockerbie bombing in Glasgow city centre last month.

A staff member from the park, however, responded to the suggestion with “sorry our lips are sealed for now.”

As a result of the filming, there will be no access through Khyber Field from tomorrow (Thursday, March 14) to Wednesday, March 27 inclusive.

Khyber Car Park will also not be accessible during these dates with the exception of the two weekends in between when it will be open to the public.

There will also be areas closed between Wednesday, March 20 and Friday, March 22 inclusive, including Mugdock Castle grounds and South Lodge Car Park.

Updates about these will be posted in the next couple of days on Mugdock's Facebook page, country park staff promise.

A post by the park on social media said: “We appreciate this will may be an inconvenience to your usual park visit but there will still be plenty of other areas to access over the dates stated.”

Unfortunately the park is not able to give out any further information about the filming.
