A family has spoken out after a young boy was allegedly stabbed in a Glasgow park.
The sister of the 13-year-old involved in the attack confirmed he is out of hospital.
It is claimed he was assaulted in Queens Park, Glasgow on Friday, 8 March.
We previously reported how a 17-year-old male has been charged in connection with the serious assault.
Posting in several community groups on Facebook, she said: “As you may be aware, [my brother] unfortunately got stabbed on his way home last friday night, I would like to give a little update on the situation.
“He is recovering well and quickly, all thanks to everyone's well wishes and prayers.
“He is no longer in hospital and is in the safety of his home resting.”
999 crews were spotted on Victoria Road, near the park over the weekend after the incident.
A blue tape was put up as officers stood guard near the scene and several police vehicles were spotted.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
We previously reported how a weekend park run in Glasgow was cancelled due to a police incident.
Queen's Parkrun shared the update on their social media pages saying: "Alert, cancelled due to police incident. Please, do not come to the park."
Detective Inspector Phillip Kennedy said: “I would like to thank the public for their assistance with our investigation into this incident.”
