Bellshill Academy and Cardinal Newman pupils learnt construction at an event hosted by North Lanarkshire council.
To encourage future development, the NL Academies team organised sessions called Build Your Future to offer practical insights and skills for future career development.
The attendees were treated to a timber wall demonstration by Candid Construction Scotland, providing hands-on experience and insight into timber construction techniques.
Post-demonstration, pupils explored the use of drones in construction in a workshop carried out by Skills Development Scotland on behalf of Balfour Beatty.
The session showcased the contemporary technology utilised in the built environment, providing the young attendees with practical knowledge and skills.
Councillor Angela Campbell, Convener of Education, said: "This type of practical, industry-led learning provides our pupils with a unique opportunity to gain essential skills and experience in the construction sector.
"Initiatives like this are crucial in nurturing the next generation of builders and innovators and I am delighted that our Brighter Futures team are putting these opportunities in place for our school pupils."
Jocelyne Fleming, trustee at Scottish Traditional Building Forum, said: "The Scottish Traditional Building Forum is delighted to work with North Lanarkshire Council to raise the profile of the diverse range of career options in the construction sector to local students so they can make an informed choice about their future careers.
"We look forward to developing a long-term sustainable model for the benefit of the young people in the area."
The event was coordinated in partnership with Candid Construction Scotland, Skills Development Scotland, Balfour Beatty and was supported by HUB South West and Scottish Traditional Building Forum.
