Drivers are facing a lengthy detour thanks to a road closure next month.
Mearns Road in Newton Mearns will be shut from its junction with Broom Road north-eastwards for approximately 40-metres on Friday, April 26 between 10am and 3pm.
The closure will allow for the safe operation of telecom utility works on or near the road.
All vehicles will be subject to the restriction except those associated with the works and emergency vehicles attending an incident.
Pedestrian access will be unaffected.
The diversion route is as follows: Mearns Road – Eaglesham Road – Ayr Road – Eastwoodmains Road – Mearns Road and Mearns Road -Benview Road – Eastwoodmains Road – Ayr Road – Eaglesham Road – Mearns Road.
