RESIDENTS at Bagatelle Care Home have been showing off their hidden talents at art sessions.
Carolann McPherson and Seamus McKillock of RIG Arts hosted the classes and said they had been a great success.
Maggie McElwee, activities co-ordinator for Bagatelle, and Diana Knox, who does the same job for Glenfield, run craft classes for residents and were delighted to welcome the two artists.
Diana said: "IMaggie and I do arts and crafts but we are not art therapists and it's wonderful to see what residents have achieved and do things we never even thought about."
Carolann explained how they launched the sessions with a painting party to put people at ease.
She said: "We used a range of materials and techniques at the workshops from watercolours to roller ink printing and driftwood.
"We started off observing as you don't know what people are capable of. The results have been amazing."
Seamus added: "It's been really nice to get to know the residents. We've had a good bit of time getting to know people individually."
One resident, Ann Stewart, said: "I thoroughly enjoyed the class, I'm not very arty but I've surprised myself."
Maggie says the group hope to auction some of the artwork from the project, which was covered by the Investing in the Community Fund through the Scottish Government.
