PAISLEY Food and Drink Festival returns to the town this weekend - with fun for people of all ages.

The popular event will take place in Abbey Close and Bridge Street on Friday from 4pm to 10pm and Saturday from 12pm to 9pm.

Visitors can enjoy a tasty line-up with more than 35 street food traders, artisan makers and licensed bars, live entertainment, kids workshops and more.

There’s a packed programme of free kids' entertainment on Saturday from pizza-making workshops, free face painting, balloon modelling as well as inflatables by Ally Bally's Bouncy Castles.

There will also be storytelling performances and creative writing activities as well as an outdoor chicken and cowboy show, The Good, The Bad and The Poultry, delivered by Adrenalisim Theatre.

You can expect to see some of your favourite Renfrewshire foodie spots like Café Fairfull, Dark God Rum and Two Towns Down Brewing, who will be serving up an expertly crafted beer, Mango No 5, brewed especially for the festival.

There will also be plenty of returning favourites including Scozzese woodfired pizza, Lemon Squeezy and Greek Street Food as well as the Fizzbuz prosecco van and Rum Shack Caribbean bar.

At the grass on Cotton Street, there will be a tented area by The Brew Hub with music and pizzas.

Meanwhile, The Keg will have a special stage and bar on Bridge Street with an array of bands playing live music to enjoy with a drink and a bite.

Trevor Mills, from The Keg, said: “We’re excited to return to the Paisley Food and Drink Festival. As a local business, we get to showcase what we are about, from our multi-award-winning beef burger to the bands who regularly play in our Gilmour Street bar.

"This year we have jumped at the chance for a bigger marquee which hosts our stage and bar sponsored by Jack Daniels.

“We always take pride in our festival line ups and this year is no different, with Friday being dedicated to the very best cover bands to sing and dance along to and Saturday being used to showcase the incredible bands playing their own songs in our town with an all-original festival worthy line up.”
